Literacy
At Valley View, we recognize that literacy is the backbone of academic success and lifelong learning. We are committed to providing high-quality literacy instruction to all students, ensuring they have the skills and knowledge necessary to thrive in our world.
Our instructional approach is comprehensive and research-based, addressing all aspects of literacy development, including phonemic awareness, phonics, vocabulary, fluency, comprehension, and critical thinking skills.
We regularly assess student progress in literacy and use data to inform instructional decision-making. Through ongoing monitoring and evaluation, we identify areas for improvement and adjust our practices to ensure continuous growth and success. Based on the results of assessments, our teachers differentiate instruction to meet the individual needs of each student, providing targeted support and enrichment as necessary to maximize their literacy growth.
Our goal is to instill a love of reading and learning that continues into adulthood.
