Preschool Lottery 2026-2027 Information

Valley View Preschool admissions are by lottery. Please see below for information, timelines, and processes used to determine how available spots are filled.

Optional Information Parent Meeting:

A parent meeting will be held on December 16, 2025, at 5:30 PM in the K-12 Commons (6057 Farmersville Pike, Germantown, OH 45327). Please park at the rear of the building and enter through the event entrance.

Entering The Lottery:

  • Applications will open at 8:00 AM on December 19, 2026, and will close at 4:00 PM on January 16, 2026.
  • The lottery will be held on January 20, 2026.
  • If duplicate names are submitted, any additional entries will be disqualified. 
  • Only families who live in the Valley View School District may enter the lottery.

Parents will be notified if their student received a spot on January 23, 2026, via email from lindsey.schmidt@valleyview.k12.oh.us

Lottery Procedure:

  • For families with multiple children entering the lottery:

    • If siblings are NOT twins, each child will have their own ticket. Having one child’s ticket pulled does NOT guarantee that the other sibling will get a spot. 

    • If siblings ARE twins, each child will get a ticket. If one child’s number is pulled, both siblings will get a spot.

    • All tickets will be drawn, and the order in which they were drawn will be recorded. 

    • Any student who has at least two years of preschool remaining will be entered into the AM lottery.

    • Any student who is new to Valley View Preschool and only has one year of preschool remaining will be entered into the PM lottery.

  • Students will be assigned a number based on the order in which their application has been submitted. A random number generator will be used to select said numbers.

  • Families will be notified via email if their child(ren) has/have received a spot. Email notification will come from Lindsey.schmidt@valleyview.k12.oh.us. 

  • Families will have until January 23, 2026, at 4:00 PM, to either accept or decline their spot. A lack of communication by January 23, 2026, at 4:00 PM will result in your child’s spot being given to the next child on the waiting list. Your child would then be placed at the end of the waiting list.

  • In the event spots are declined, and spots become available, families next in line will be notified.  

  • All families who did not receive a preschool spot will be officially notified via email from Lindsey.schmidt@valleyview.k12.oh.us. 

  • School staff will contact families of students who receive a spot to set up a screening date and time.
